Full Bathroom Installations explained

What it is

A full bathroom installation replaces everything: the old suite comes out, the room is prepared, pipework is altered where needed, and the new bath or shower, basin, toilet, furniture and finishes go in. You end up with a room that works properly and looks the way you planned it.

Who it's for

Homeowners in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire whose bathroom is tired, impractical, or simply not how they want it, from first-time buyers updating a dated room to families who need the space to work harder every morning.

When you need it

When the suite is worn or damaged, when the layout doesn't suit how you live, when you're renovating a property, or when small problems like a leaking bath seal or loose toilet keep coming back.

Why it pays to get it right

A bathroom is the room where poor workmanship shows quickest: leaks behind panels, uneven floors, badly sealed showers and pipework that knocks. Getting it right first time protects the rest of your house and saves paying twice.

If it's left

What waiting
really costs

Hidden leaks spread

Worn seals and tired fittings let water creep behind baths and under floors. Left alone, that means damp, stained ceilings below and rotten floorboards, turning a bathroom refit into a bigger repair.

Costs climb with patch repairs

Fixing one thing at a time in an old bathroom often costs more over a few years than replacing it properly, and still leaves you with a room you don't like.

A layout that never works

Living with a bathroom that's awkward to use every day wears thin. The sooner it's done, the longer you get to enjoy it.

Prices that grow mid-job

Many people get a low quote, then extras appear once the old room is stripped. With a fixed-price installation, any unforeseen work is discussed before it happens.

Common mistakes

  • ×Choosing a fitter on the lowest headline price without checking what's included.
  • ×Ordering a suite before anyone has measured the room and checked where pipework can run.
  • ×Not asking who will actually be in your home doing the work.
  • ×Forgetting to budget for tiles, which are customer-supplied with us, and choosing them too late.

How it works

Our process,
step by step

  1. 01

    Free quote visit

Scott comes out to your home, measures up and talks through the layout with you. He'll tell you honestly what will work with the space, where the pipework can and can't go, and what will give you the best result for your budget.

  2. 02

    Fixed-price quote

You receive a fixed price for the installation. That price doesn't creep up halfway through. If something unforeseen turns up once the old bathroom is stripped out, we stop and talk it through with you before any extra work goes ahead.

  3. 03

    Options and samples

Once you've accepted the quote, Laura sends over options for you to choose from. Depending on your selections, a home visit with samples follows, for example flooring options or aqua panels, so you can see them in your own light before anything is ordered.

  4. 04

    Installation by the same team

Scott carries out the work with the same trusted team he uses on every job. Laura keeps you updated on what's happening and when, and the space is left clean and tidy at the end of each day.

  5. 05

    Handover and guarantee

Everything is checked and run before we leave. Your installation is backed by our 2-year workmanship guarantee, and manufacturer warranties apply to the products themselves.

What you get

Why choose Harrison's

A price you can plan around

Fixed-price installations mean you know what the bathroom will cost before a single tile comes off the wall.

You're never left chasing

Laura handles bookings, samples and ordering, and keeps you informed at every stage, one of the things our reviews mention most.

Consistent workmanship

Scott has 20 years on the tools and works with the same trusted team on every job, so standards don't change from one day to the next.

Peace of mind afterwards

Every installation carries a 2-year workmanship guarantee, and we're fully insured.

Your suite, your choice

We can supply your bathroom suite, or fit one you've already chosen. Tiles are sourced by you, so you have full control over the look.

A tidy home during the work

The space is cleaned up at the end of each day, something customers like Robert Moreland have called out in their reviews.

In detail

Everything to know about
full bathroom installations

What a full installation includes

Every full installation is quoted on what your room needs. Typically that covers removal of the old suite, any changes to the water supply and waste pipework, fitting the new bath or shower, basin, toilet and furniture, and finishing the walls and floor using the products you've selected.

Because the price is fixed, you know before work starts exactly what you're paying for. If something unexpected is uncovered once the old bathroom is out, Scott will show you and talk it through before anything extra is done.

Suites, finishes and wall options

Harrison's can supply your bathroom suite, or fit one you've already bought. That flexibility suits people who've spotted something they love as well as those who'd rather have it sorted for them.

Tiles are sourced by you, which keeps you in full control of the look. Alternatives such as aqua panels and different flooring options can be shown to you at a samples visit, depending on your selections.

Bath, shower or both

Some people want a family bath, others want a large walk-in shower, and many want both. Scott will tell you honestly what the space can take and how to get the most from it, whether that's swapping a bath for a shower, adding a shower over the bath, or changing the position of the toilet and basin.

If you're thinking about a wet room or an accessible layout, see our dedicated wet room and accessible bathroom pages.

Older homes and renovations

Many homes around Chesterfield have older pipework and walls that aren't perfectly straight. These are exactly the situations where experience matters: Scott has 20 years of dealing with what's behind the walls.

If you're renovating a whole property, we can fit the bathroom around your other trades: Hayley Callaghan's review describes Scott coming to 'save my bathroom in my house renovation'.

Bathrooms for every type of home

From compact terraced-house bathrooms to larger family rooms, the approach is the same: understand how you use the space, check what's behind the walls and under the floor, then plan an installation that works with the building rather than against it.

Local to Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire

Harrison's is based in Chesterfield and has been trading since January 2021. We work across the town and the surrounding area, including Staveley, Brimington, Wingerworth, Dronfield, Bolsover, Clay Cross, North Wingfield, Eckington, Killamarsh, Matlock and Alfreton.

Being local means the person who quotes your job is the person who turns up to do it, and the business answering your call is run by Scott and Laura themselves, not a call centre. It's also why so many of our customers come back, and why we hold a 100% recommendation rating from 38 Facebook reviews.

We're a Derbyshire Trusted Trader and fully insured, with both public liability and employers liability cover in place. If you'd like to check that we cover your street, or you're not sure whether your job is something we can help with, call Scott on 07463 793992 or send the quote form and Laura will get back to you.

Your guarantee and product warranties

Every installation is backed by our 2-year workmanship guarantee. That covers the work we carry out, the fitting, the connections and the finish, so if something we've installed isn't right, we come back and put it right.

Bathroom products such as taps, showers, toilets and furniture also carry their own manufacturer warranties. These vary from product to product. If a product fails under its warranty, we'll organise the replacement for you; the labour to fit the replacement is charged. Scott will explain this clearly when you choose your products, so you know where you stand before anything is ordered.

Supplying your own products

Plenty of customers already know exactly which bath, shower or vanity unit they want. You're welcome to supply your own suite and we'll fit it, or we can supply it for you, whichever is easier.

Tiles are always sourced by the customer. If you're choosing tiles, it's worth doing so early in the process so they're ready in good time. Alternatives such as aqua panels and different flooring options can be shown at a samples visit depending on your selections.

Paying for your bathroom

Quotes are free. Installations are quoted at a fixed price, so the figure you agree to is the figure you plan around. If something unforeseen turns up, for example, damage hidden behind an old bath panel, we'll show you and discuss it before going ahead.

You can pay by card (credit or debit), bank transfer or cash.
